The Cottages are within easy walking distance of the village of
Blair Atholl with its wide range of amenities and visitor attractions.
Just across the river over the Bridge of Tilt you will find local
shops, post office and 2 hotels.
The village also has an old working mill, a museum covering the
Atholl Country Collection, featuring life of bygone days, a bowling
green, mountain bike hire, pony trekking and of course Blair Castle,
the home of the Duke of Argyll and his private army, the Atholl
Highlanders.
Few will fail to be impressed by the surrounding countryside and
spectacular scenery of Glen Tilt, the Falls of Bruar and Forest
of Atholl. A short 15 minute drive south through the pass of Killiekrankie
will bring you to Pitlochry, a major tourist centre, with its large
variety of shops, the famous Festival
Theatre, hydro-electric dam and visitor centre and of course
the famous Pitlochry the salmon ladder, where you can see salmon
ascending to their breeding grounds, one of which is the River Tilt.
Visitors can also visit the many Distilleries in the area.
